Zhubo Design's inspiration for the Longcheer Hotel came from the building's 470-meter-long coastline. The design combines the characteristics of the terrain and the site, integrating the terraces and the surrounding mountains and sea into the hotel's architecture. The result is a building that feels natural and harmonious. The hotel's design aims to share the beautiful seascape with the city, rather than blocking the view with long walls, a common issue with horizontally arranged buildings.
The hotel's unique properties lie in its folding and undulating "streamer" that distinguishes public spaces from private ones. This design element not only differentiates the two areas but also enhances the contrast between the unit facade and the large glass curtain wall. The "streamer" genes originate from the bending of the building shape along the site's boundary, activating the horizontally long building appearance.
Every two hotel room balconies on the facade form a rectangular cell, subtly altering the sunlight projection and the reflected image of the balcony glass. The side wall of the unit frame is made of silver-white metal aluminum plate, separated by double-layer frosted glass with built-in lights, creating a soft and vivid lighting effect at night.
The Longcheer Hotel project started in 2015 in Shenzhen and was completed in 2019. The design team faced challenges in the slope finding of the filter layer and the drainage of the gardening surface. However, they managed to maintain the integrity of gardening and the smoothness of drainage simultaneously.
Respect for nature and people is evident in the hotel's design. From the mountain behind, the green roof of the building and the blue pavilion seem to be hidden in the environment of the mountains and the sea. The design of the building naturally combines the characteristics of terrain and site, integrating the Yunnan terraces and the surrounding mountains and sea into it, making the whole building feel cordial, natural, harmonious, and full of connotation.
The Longcheer Hotel, with its elegant facade and humble posture, is a testament to Zhubo Design's commitment to creating architecture that respects and enhances its natural surroundings. It's no surprise that this innovative design has been recognized with a Silver A' Design Award, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation.
